Tori Essex, MS, LCMHCA, LLC

“If you're curious about your own growth, willing to explore your inner world, or craving deeper connections, you are not alone. Finding therapeutic support that's a good fit for you is a great next step. I'm here to help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and rediscover your unique and meaningful ways of moving through the world.”

My approach is compassionate and meets you where you are. Healing isn't one-size-fits-all – it's about understanding your strengths, challenges, and inherent wisdom. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, feeling disconnected, or just trying to navigate life's complexities, we can work together at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.

Drawing from trauma-informed practices and a holistic understanding of wellness, I often utilize somatic awareness, mindfulness, and creative expression to create a collaborative space where you feel seen, respected, and empowered to grow. Together, we'll honor your experiences, build on your inherent resilience, and help you develop more compassionate ways of caring for yourself.

I offer free, 15-minute consultation calls so that we can assess our fit and discuss your needs together.

I’d love to hear from you.

About Tori Essex, MS, LCMHCA, LLC

I'm a mental health counselor with a deep commitment to helping people reconnect to their strengths and wisdom. Drawing from my clinical training and a holistic understanding of wellness, I work with people who are ready to explore their inner world with curiosity. Whether you're navigating life transitions, feeling stuck, or seeking a more authentic way of relating to yourself and others, I offer a supportive space where we can slow down, explore, and listen to your experience. Presence is at the heart of my work. I believe transformation happens in those moments of genuine connection, where we can sit with our experiences without judgment.

I have a masters degree in counseling from Prescott College and an undergraduate degree in art and design from the University of Michigan. I am informed by creative practice, my work with meditation, the NeuroAffective Relational Model, and Somatic Experiencing. My counseling practice is guided by my core values of integrity, respect, harmony, resilience, and fun.

To me:

integrity is a practice of “being what you seem to be.”
respect is a consistent regard for feelings, abilities, qualities, traditions, rights, and achievements.
harmony is a sense of inner peace, groundedness, contentment, equilibrium.
resilience is the ability to “get back up,” adapt, and grow after experiencing challenge
fun is engaging in playfulness, amusement, and wonder
